A cynic would say that Mark McGwire is trying to ingratiate himself with journalists so as to increase his chances of being inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. But why be cynical? Let's give McGwire the benefit of the doubt and assume that he misses baseball, believes that he can give back something to the game, and wants the world to know about it.
