I leave you this fine evening with a report by Scott Wilson. President Obama is going to learn very soon, if he doesn't know it already, that ours is a strict-liability (i.e., non-fault-based) system. The president of the United States gets credit (praise) for the good things that happen on his or her watch and debit (blame) for the bad things that happen. It may not be fair, but that's the way it is. So far, President Obama is evading responsibility for the bad things that are happening. He is scapegoating President Bush. The American people will not allow him to do this for long. For one thing, it looks wimpy.
Strict Political Liability
