I'd like to wish everyone a happy equinox: vernal if, like me, you live in the Northern Hemisphere, autumnal if, like my friend Dr John J. Ray in Brisbane, Australia, you live in the Southern Hemisphere. On this day, everyone in the world has days and nights of equal length. (Is that right?)

The weather in my hometown of Fort Worth has been gorgeous. (I'm on spring break this week.) Right now, at 5:51 P.M., it's 75º Fahrenheit and sunny. Yes, I'm inside working at the computer, but earlier today I (1) took a long walk with Shelbie, (2) read in my back yard, and (3) ran 3.1 miles. I also went out for a Subway sandwich and some groceries. This evening, under the stars, I will walk Shelbie again. I call her my ramblin' girl. She loves to run. I, by contrast, hate to run; but I love having run. I've run five times in the past six days. I mowed my back yard on the sixth day. Tomorrow I do a long bike ride with my home boys.

Living well is the best revenge.
