Here is Thomas Sowell's latest column. The progressive urge is always to do something. It is a kind of arrogance. Instead of letting things work out on their own, the progressive insists on manipulating, engineering, and controlling them. Often, this makes things worse rather than better. You would think that progressives would learn from their many mistakes. Nope. Their mistakes merely embolden them to keep trying. They redouble their efforts, thus making things doubly bad.
