The National Baseball Hall of Fame will never have credibility as long as Pete Rose is not a member. He is the greatest player in the history of the game. Please don't ask for the "basis" of this "claim." It's a complex judgment involving a great many weighted criteria. It would take a book to make the case, and this blog isn't a book. Suffice it to say that I have been a student of the game since 1967, when I was 10. For at least 20 years, I have never wavered in my judgment that Rose is the greatest player. You, of course, are free to think otherwise.
