I've been using TypePad as my blog platform for one year. Here is a post from a year ago today. All things considered, I'm happy with TypePad. There is no downtime; I get answers from technicians when I have questions; it has (almost) all the features I want and need; and the price is right. I should have used TypePad from the beginning (on 5 November 2003), but hey, better late than never!

As many of you know, I have a feature called "A Year Ago." I don't know how many people clicked the link each day to read what I wrote a year earlier. I enjoyed seeing what was on my mind, or in the news, 12 months previously. That feature is now kaput. It's not that I don't want to continue it, but it would be too difficult and time-consuming. With my old blog (which still exists as an archive), there was a calendar in the sidebar with links to individual days. I could click the link for a particular day and read all the posts for that day, choosing the one that I wanted to link to. TypePad doesn't have that feature, unfortunately. I'm certainly not going to cycle through dozens of screens each day to find the appropriate day. I hope you don't miss this feature. Onward!
