One of my UTA colleagues thinks there is only one sport: college football. (He's an SEC man.) I told him that college football is a gap filler. It fills the gap between baseball seasons. He replied that the baseball season is over, and LSU won. See what I have to put up with?
Prediction: The Texas Longhorns, with Colt McCoy (the next Heisman Trophy winner) in the saddle, win the BCS title game (for the second time in five years) in 2010. I know you're thinking, "Isn't this the guy who predicted that John McCain would beat Barack Obama in a landslide?" It is, but it's also the guy who predicted that the Detroit Tigers would meet the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2009 World Series. That prediction is looking mighty good right now, wouldn't you say? Both teams are in first place, and have been for almost the entire season.
