Round two goes to the Rat Sox. One of the things that disturbs me about the 2009 Detroit Tigers is the team's inability to hold a lead. There have been many times this season when the Tigers jumped out to an early lead (such as yesterday's 3-0), only to let the other team back in the game. This is not the mark of a good team. Indeed, it is the mark of a young and undisciplined team. Good teams, which is to say teams that go far in the playoffs, must have a killer instinct. When you get the other team down, you must hold it down. Place boot firmly on neck; apply pressure.

Addendum: There was a brawl during the game. Tiger pitcher Rick Porcello hit Kevin Youkilis in the back as retaliation for the Rat Sox pitcher hitting the Tigers' best hitter, Miguel Cabrera. Watch the video. Porcello threw the charging Youkilis to the ground as though Youkilis were a rag doll. That'll teach the punk not to charge the mound.
