Round three went to the Rat Sox. Round four goes to my beloved Detroit Tigers, who are still, unlike the Rat Sox, in first place. Boston won three of four games against the Tigers, at home. That may seem impressive, but anything less than three victories would have been a failure. You can split on the road, but you can't split at home, at least if you hope to make it to the playoffs. The Rat Sox come to Arlington tomorrow to play three games against my adoptive team, the Texas Rangers. Using the same logic I used above, the Rangers must win two of three to avoid failure. Josh Hamilton is coming out of his season-long slump. He will single-handedly beat Boston at least once in this series.
