Here is a column by libertarian law professor Richard A. Epstein, who thinks progressives such as President Obama are ignorant of the laws of economics. I don't think that's correct. I think progressives know full well that governmental intervention in the marketplace hurts the very people it is supposed to help. Progressives don't really care about helping the poor, though they pretend to; their objective is to harm the wealthy. It's not ignorance, in other words; it's envy or spite or some other green emotion.
