Compare this New York Times story to the stories that have been written about Sarah Palin. The reporter bends over backward to defend Ezekiel Emanuel, whose critics are said to quote him out of context and to say "false" things about him. (Since when is it the job of a reporter to make definitive assessments of factual claims? A reporter's job in cases of controversy is to inform readers of who said what, leaving it to the readers to determine who is correct and who incorrect.) I have never seen a New York Times story that defended Sarah Palin from the hateful attacks on her by progressives. Even her "death panel" comment was taken out of context. Critics put the very worst spin on everything she says and does. She never gets the benefit of the doubt. She always gets the detriment of the doubt. President Obama and his underlings, such as Emanuel, always get the benefit of the doubt. This story is another of many examples of dishonest reporting by the New York Times, which will let nothing—not fairness, not impartiality, not professionalism, not even decency—interfere with its progressive agenda.
