What a game! Yesterday, at the Ballpark in Arlington (just down the road from my house), the Toronto Blue Jays raced to an 11-0 lead over my adoptive team, the Texas Rangers. I told my friend Jeff by e-mail that the Rangers would come back. I was serious. The Rangers came back. They scored seven runs in one inning and then chipped away until it was 11-10. I felt sorry for the Blue Jays. Blowing an 11-run lead is disgraceful. Unfortunately, the Rangers never scored again, and the Blue Jays scored seven additional runs in the ninth inning to win, 18-10. Eleven runs for the Blue Jays, followed by 10 for the Rangers, followed by seven for the Blue Jays. Can you say "weird"? The teams play a doubleheader today. The Rangers have already won the first game.
