There is speculation that United States Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens will retire at the end of the term that is about to begin. If President Obama gets to replace him, not much will change on the Court, since Stevens is far to the left on the political spectrum. It will, however, replace an old progressive with a young progressive, thus solidifying the progressive bloc.
