There are three arguments for atheism. The first is directed to the world at large. The second and third are ad hominem (i.e., directed to particular others). The first and second are deductive. The third is inductive. The first argument is that God is an impossible object, like a married bachelor. The second is that God is impossible, given other things that one's interlocutor believes (such as that evil exists). The third is that God is improbable, given other things that one's interlocutor believes (such as that evil exists).
