To the Editor:

Re “The Recession Behind Bars,” by Kenneth E. Hartman (Op-Ed, Sept. 6):

I found Mr. Hartman’s complaints about a lack of air-conditioning, and how hard that is on relatives who visit, to be just a bit too much whining for someone convicted of murder. Just how well is the victim doing, or the victim’s relatives?

Give me a break.
