If opposition to Barack Obama is rooted in hatred of blacks (i.e., racism), then support of Barack Obama is rooted in love of blacks. If opponents are trying to bring a black man down, then supporters are trying to prop a black man up (as a way of alleviating guilt). Why would only one side be improperly motivated? Either everybody is or nobody is.
