Afghanistan is not Vietnam, says President Obama. They are different! Why? Because I say they are! Iraq, of course, was just like Vietnam. By the way, it is often said (by progressives) that Obama is intelligent and articulate. Read the quotations in the New York Times story. The man is borderline illiterate. When he does make sense, his utterances are vacuous.
Addendum: I quote the president:
You have to learn lessons from history. On the other hand, each historical moment is different. You never step into the same river twice. And so Afghanistan is not Vietnam.
Say what? I think a lot of Americans are experiencing buyer's remorse.
