Peter Wehner nails it. Remember when George W. Bush claimed to be a "uniter, not a divider"? When he failed to unite the nation, he was attacked by progressives as a divider. It was his fault, not the fault of those who called him names such as "war criminal" and "Chimpy W. Hitler." Fast forward to Barack Obama, who claimed during the 2008 presidential campaign to be "postpartisan." Obama vowed to bring people together. It hasn't happened. Whose fault is it? Not President Obama's! It's the fault of conservatives! To summarize, both presidents claimed to be uniters. Both failed to unite. When President Bush failed, it was his fault, not that of his critics. When President Obama failed, it was his critics' fault, not his. Don't you love it? Progressives are consistently inconsistent.
