I understand that lots of people watch Jon Stewart. Here he is, making fun of ACORN and lambasting "mainstream" news organizations for not doing their job, which, in case anyone has forgotten, is holding powerful people (especially agents of the state) accountable. It's too bad that Stewart didn't mention the close ties between ACORN and President Obama. When Stewart and his ilk begin making fun of Obama, the way they made fun of President Bush, it will signal that the Obama mystique is dead. He will be just another politician, subject to the same standards as any other. (Currently, there is a double standard. Obama is protected by journalists.)

By the way, Stewart is probably catching hell from progressives, who do not like it when their ranks are broken. Progressives are all about solidarity, which is why former progressives such as me are viewed as traitors, heretics, and backstabbers.  Progressivism, unlike conservatism, is a movement, with a vanguard and a proletariat. Everything, including dissent, is to be subordinated to the end of promoting radical change. People who question either the means or the ends of this movement are disciplined for it. You will note the affinities between progressivism and religious cults such as the Branch Davidians.
