Magic number for my beloved Detroit Tigers: 2. The Bengals overcame an early 2-0 deficit to beat the Minnesota Twins this evening, 7-2. Thanks to ESPN, I was able to watch the game. A victory over the Twins tomorrow gives my boys their first divisional title since 1987. Yes, the Tigers went to the World Series in 2006, but I don't count that, since they were the wild-card team. To deserve to win a World Series, you must win your division.
Addendum: The Tigers have finished last in their division seven times since 1987, including in 2008. If we win this year, we will go from last (i.e., fifth) to first.
