The fourth team to be eliminated from the 2009 playoffs is Colorado. The Rockies fought back valiantly to take the lead over the Philadelphia Phillies, only to lose the game in the ninth inning. Huston Street blew another save. He's a goner. Colorado fans will never forgive him for these disgraceful performances, just as Houston Astros fans never forgave Brad Lidge. Closers are either heroes or goats, with no in between.
If you had any doubts about baseball playoffs being fixed, they should be dispelled. There were 20 possible games in the four League Division Series. Only 13 games were played. There were three three-game sweeps and one four-game series. Major League Baseball is probably pleased with where things stand. There are two West Coast teams (the Dodgers and the Angels) and two East Coast teams (the Yankees and the Phillies) remaining. A Yankees/Dodgers World Series would get high television ratings, and hence bring more money into the sport. I don't think I can stand to see both Choke-Fraud and Manny "I'm a Moron" Ramirez in the same game. Is there a ballpark that can contain their massive egos?
