I'm still processing my images from the most recent Hotter 'n Hell Hundred (in August). The image in this post (click to enlarge) shows me at the Burkburnett rest stop, near the Texas/Oklahoma border. My friends and I always stop at this rest stop. It's a little past the halfway point of the 100-mile course. By then, we're starting to feel the heat of the sun. Some people go directly back to Wichita Falls at this point, which makes for a 74-mile course. Others continue on the long course, which comes out at 102 miles. The ride into Burkburnett is usually fast and furious. I don't know why this is. Perhaps it's because we're still fresh and looking forward to the rest stop. There are always locals sitting in lawn chairs alongside the road, cheering for the riders. It's a nice touch.
