Here is a New York Times story about the 1950 World Series, which ended (after just four games) on 7 October. The 2009 World Series could end on 5 November, nearly a month later. I'm expecting an epic Series this year. The Philadelphia Phillies are playoff hardened, having won it all in 2008. The New York Yankees haven't been to a World Series since 2003, but this year's team has good starting pitching, good relief pitching, good hitting, and good fielding. This year's Series could come down to managing. Charlie Manuel, who has been around the game for a long time, has an edge on Joe Girardi. Look for Choke-Fraud to do what he does best.
