You heard it here first, peeps. The National Football League will allow fans to make the calls on replays. If I understand correctly, this is how American Idol works. (I've never watched it.) Fans will call one number if they believe it was a fumble, for example, and another number if they believe it was not. It might be objected that this will allow bias to creep in. But this objection assumes that the NFL cares about something other than money. Fans will love the arrangement. Why should ordinary people have a say in politics but not in sport, which is every bit as important?
