Mark Spahn drew my attention to Charles Murray's blog post about Glenn Beck. Thanks, Mark. I think I have the same problem as Murray. Beck's ideas may be good, but his defense of them leaves a lot to be desired. Indeed, it could end up hurting his cause. Beck seems to have married politics and entertainment. I'd like my politics without entertainment, thank you. Then again, I'm a boring old academic who believes in the power of ideas. Good ideas need no fancy packaging.
