Why do progressives believe that race determines belief? In other words, why do they think that all blacks (and all whites) must think alike? Is that not itself racism? In fact, as anyone with any sense knows, there is diversity of thought within every race. For every Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, there is a Thomas Sowell and a Clarence Thomas. For every Harry Reid and John Kerry, there is a Mitch McConnell and a Pat Buchanan. Races don't think; individuals think. Progressives, inspired by Karl Marx (1818-1883), view the social world in terms of classes; liberals and conservatives view it in terms of individuals. Progressives affirm, while liberals and conservatives deny, that class determines belief. I don't know about you, but I find that insulting as well as false.
