The editorial board of the New York Times wants to increase your taxes, and therefore the power of government to run our lives. Has there ever been a tax (or a spending provision) that progressives dislike? Once again: If you want more of something, subsidize it; if you want less, tax it. Either the editorial board doesn't understand this basic law of economics or it wants less commerce.
