Here, courtesy of longtime reader Bob Hessen,  is a useful column by Robert Tracinski. Most Americans oppose governmental intervention in the health-care market. Why don't progressives create organizations to which the wealthy among them (such as George Soros) can contribute, and which are designed to provide health care to the needy? This would allow progressives to do the right thing, by their lights, without forcing anyone else to contribute. It's almost as though progressives are more interested in imposing their will on others (or in destroying the health-insurance industry) than in getting health care to the needy.
