We don't get much snow in Fort Worth, thank goodness. Yesterday afternoon, as the temperature dropped, it began to snow: big, fluffy flakes. I didn't expect it to accumulate. But as the evening wore on, the temperature fell even further and the snow kept coming down (albeit at an angle, because of the strong wind). By this morning, everything was white. The temperature was 25º Fahrenheit when Shelbie and I took our walk through the meadow and woods near our home. The sky was clear and there was no wind. It was quite beautiful. Because it was Christmas, all was quiet. On weekdays, I hear cars off in the distance, but not today. In fact, I didn't see a single person during the 45-minute walk, even when we were in the neighborhood. I wanted desperately to say "Merry Christmas!" to someone, politically incorrect as that may be. I guess everyone was inside, staying warm. The image in this post (click to enlarge) is one of several I made during our excursion (which means, literally, "running out," and notice the word "cur" inside; that's for Shelbie, my little runner).
Merry Christmas! I'm tempted to say that I hope Santa Claus was good to you, but that wouldn't be correct. I hope Santa Claus was good to you if and only if you were good this past year. Santa Claus is the personification of justice, which consists in giving each person his or her due. Note that there are two types of injustice: getting more than one deserves and getting less than one deserves.
Addendum: Officially, we had three inches of snow yesterday.
Addendum 2: According to this New York Times story, the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex (as it's known in these parts) had its first white Christmas since 1926.
