To the Editor:
I’m not just “a retiree who relies on interest income”; I’m a retiree looking for something more than nominal interest.
Pardon me for asking a simple question: Why are the executive ranks of the banks that are holding and using our money preparing to receive bonuses well over 100 percent of their salaries, but can’t pay depositors 2 or 3 percent additional interest?

Note from KBJ: If you don't like the interest you're earning at Bank A, deposit your money with Bank B (or invest it outside a bank). There is no God-given right to high interest. Shop around!
