I'm fixin' to buy this reversible grill/griddle, mainly for pancakes and eggs, but also for grilled-cheese sandwiches and French toast. It costs $164.95 at Amazon.com. I have a flat-top ceramic stove that's easily scratched, so cast iron is out. But wait! According to my owner's manual, cast iron is fine if it's covered with enamel. Another problem is that the griddle does not have a flat bottom, and therefore will not be fully in contact with the stove surface, but someone on a chat page said it doesn't matter. The heat from the stove manages to reach the griddle. What do you think of my plan? Am I missing something? The stove, by the way, has a heatable bridge between the two burners, and the 9-x-18-inch dimensions of the griddle are perfect.
