To the Editor:
I find it troubling to say the least that
there was Republican obstruction to an extension of unemployment
benefits, which will run out for some on April 5, and that the Senate
simply decided to leave town until April 12 without addressing the
urgent problem.
Don’t those in charge realize that they are
dealing with real people’s lives, and that their actions can cause pain
for thousands if not millions of people? Or are they so out of touch
with reality that they just don’t get it?
We deserve more from our
elected officials.
