Antony Flew is dead. He pulled off a remarkable feat: pissing off both theists and atheists. He pissed off theists by rejecting the existence of a personal deity. He pissed off atheists by accepting the existence of a deity. By the way, I corresponded with Flew many years ago. I published a review of one of his books, after which he wrote to me. I wrote back. He was a gentle soul. It will not surprise you that, like David Hume (1711-1776), he was a political conservative.
