4-26-90 . . . Nolan Ryan did it again. Tonight he pitched a one-hit shutout, defeating the Chicago White Sox by a score of 1-0 in Arlington Stadium. (The rain ceased late this afternoon. The tarp kept the infield dry and the outfielders played in pools of water.) Most amazing of all is that Ryan struck out sixteen batters; that sets a Ranger record. The man is amazing! His record is now 4-0, which ties him for the major-league lead in victories. I should have gone to the game.
