I should warn you that there are diverse conceptions of philosophy among philosophers. To me, philosophy is nothing more (or less) than the analysis of concepts. Philosophers as such have neither factual nor evaluative expertise. They cannot tell us how things are or how things should be. What they can tell us is how things can and cannot be, given this or that.
