Keith,
A naive baseball question: Is throwing a ball at an opposing player
allowed by the rules of baseball? See here. In
football, causing someone to trip is legal; it is called tackling. But to
cause a jogger to trip would be a crime. Throwing a projectile at someone
is legal in dodgeball. Is it legal in baseball? Is tackling in football,
and beaning in baseball, a civil crime? In sports, it seems that if both
parties agree, an otherwise illegal act becomes legal, such as a
play-till-a-bone-breaks nunchuck match.
