It sounds good to hear President Obama talk about making sure BP pays
for all the damage to the environment and the loss of business and
income to all the people on the Gulf. But for the life of me, I can’t
understand why he goes about it backward.

Why would he come out at this time and announce that they are
beginning a criminal and civic investigation of BP’s actions? All it did
was cause BP’s stock to take a dive. It seems to me if I wanted to get a
bunch of money from some corporation, I would be careful not to do
anything to devalue their stock. If you bankrupt the company in the
beginning, there may not be any money left for the people. Why not wait
until this thing is over before you investigate. That is, unless
politics come first.
