Having run twice in St Ignace, Michigan, during my recent vacation, I now know how much the Texas heat costs me in terms of speed. My mile paces on the two Michigan runs were 7:27.92 and 7:26.32. The temperature was in the upper 60s or low 70s (degrees Fahrenheit). My mile pace on my Texas run yesterday was 7:51.30. The temperature was 97.9º. I put forth the same effort and the two courses were the same, in terms of distance (3.1 miles) and hilliness. By the way, my Garmin Forerunner 305 is working well. I love it.
