The city of Chicago plans to defy the United States Supreme Court. I expect most of the city's gun regulations (assuming they become law) to be struck down as unconstitutional. Incidentally, why is it that when school boards require that Design Theory be taught in public schools, there are cries of improper motivation (specifically, trying to sneak religion into the curriculum), but when a city does everything it can to restrict a constitutional right, there are no cries of improper motivation? Isn't it obvious that the city of Chicago is trying to emasculate the right to bear arms, rather than, as it says, to promote public safety? If the city really cared about its citizens, it would want guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens. By making it hard for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their loved ones, the city all but ensures that crime continues apace. Can you say "bleeding-heart liberal"? Can you say "do-gooder"? Can you say "shooting yourself in the foot"?
