This is not a good day for me. First, my cycling hero (Lance Armstrong) fell far behind the leaders in the Tour de France. Second, my beloved Detroit Tigers lost to the Minnesota Twins. Third, my adoptive team, the Texas Rangers, lost its fourth consecutive game to the lowly Baltimore Orioles. Katherine and I went to the game—our third this season. It would be nice to see Lance ride for his teammate Levi Leipheimer, since Levi and others have ridden for Lance many times during the past decade or so. Lance himself may not be able to beat Alberto Contador, but he can help Levi do it. It would also be nice to see Lance win a stage or two during the next two weeks. Now that he is no longer a threat for the overall victory, he will be given leeway by the peloton.
