Re “Wall
St. Hiring in Anticipation of a Recovery
” (front page, July 11):

There is something grossly wrong with our society if, as the article
states, the average salary on Wall Street is $392,000 while for other
workers in the city it is $63,875.

Unless and until this toxic salary imbalance is rectified, the city will
continue to be overly dependent upon a tax revenue stream that creates
little social value and is subject to wild swings of boom and bust.
