Re “The Afghan Struggle: A Secret Archive” (“The War Logs,” front page, July 26):

You write, “The material comes to light as Congress and the public grow
increasingly skeptical of the deepening involvement in Afghanistan.”

What public are you talking about? I see few signs of a public even
aware that this country is at war and still fewer news reports of
protests or other public outcry. The almost complete unwillingness of
the public to protest a questionable war—without dishonoring our
soldiers—is as stunning as it is appalling.
