Here is a New York Times story about plagiarism. I solve the problem by making my students take in-class examinations. Am I surprised that plagiarism exists? No. It's a form of cheating, and there are cheaters in every human enterprise, from academia to sport to science to commerce to law to art. I'm proud to say that I've never cheated at anything in my life. No amount of fame or fortune is worth my integrity.
