Here is a column by Howard Kurtz—about the sad state of American journalism. I'm surprised that journalists would so willingly trade their authoritativeness for partisanship. Is being a player that exciting? I would think that it would be just as satisfying, if not more so, to be above the fray. Perhaps a new, impartial type of journalism will emerge from the ashes of the old one. I believe Americans crave dispassionate reportage of public affairs and will support a new journalism. Who wants to get it started?
