Here is a New York Times story about Lance Armstrong. What critics of Armstrong don't realize is that he didn't need to cheat. If you look at his history, he was dominating his rivals before he was out of his teens. The people who needed to cheat are the likes of Floyd Landis, whose athletic talent pales in comparison to that of Armstrong. Landis was a domestique who thought that cheating would make him a star. The same is true of Roberto Heras and Tyler Hamilton. They rode with Armstrong, helped him win, and then decided to cheat their way to glory.
