Let me get this straight. The universe can be explained without postulating the existence of God; therefore, God does not exist. This is a flagrant non sequitur. To see this, consider that God could have so constructed things that the universe can be explained without postulating the existence of God. Methinks Stephen Hawking should stick to physics.
