It took five hours, 12 minutes, but it was worth it. My adoptive team, the Texas Rangers, beat the New York Yankees yesterday evening, 6-5, in 13 innings. The Bombs blew a 4-1 lead. The game had a playoff atmosphere, with a big crowd, plenty of noise, and lots of tension. These teams will probably meet in one of the American League Division Series next month. If the Rangers get Josh Hamilton and Cliff Lee back, they will slap the Yankees silly and move on to the American League Championship Series. This country will not tolerate another Yankee title.
