It puzzles me that Karl Rove would attack Christine O'Donnell, the Republican candidate for United States Senator from Delaware. Rove is a brilliant political strategist and a rock-ribbed Republican. Doesn't he want her to win? Does he prefer a Democrat? Then it hit me: He's on her side.
Rove knows that O'Donnell needs money. He also knows that the way to draw money into her coffers in this age of the Tea Party is for establishment types to attack her. Since Rove is an establishment type, by virtue of being part of the Bush administration for eight years, he knew that by attacking her, he would rile the Tea Partiers into donating money to her campaign, and sure enough he did. I read somewhere this afternoon that O'Donnell has over $1,000,000 in donations.
You heard it here first.
