Just like that, yesterday afternoon, our weather changed. It went from sultry (hot and humid) to crisp (sunny, cool, and dry). It always happens sometime in September; yesterday was that day. When I rose this morning, it was a delightful 54º Fahrenheit—about 20º lower than usual! Needless to say, I'm stoked. I've been waiting for cool weather so that I can increase the length and intensity of my runs.
I had a terrific four-day weekend. On Friday, I ran 6.6 miles at a 7:50 pace. On Saturday, I rode my bike 67.59 miles in Waco. Yesterday, Katherine and I walked 3.1 miles on my 5K course, talking and enjoying the autumnal weather. This morning, I ran 6.6 miles at a 7:35 pace. See the difference the weather makes? Fifteen seconds per mile! I'm gearing up for my first 10K race of the fall a week from Saturday. What's the weather like in your neck o' the woods?
