The 2010 World Series begins in just over an hour. The San Francisco Giants, whose most recent World Series title came in 1954 (when the team played in New York), host my adoptive team, the Texas Rangers. The Rangers had never won a postseason series before this year; a fortiori, they had never won a World Series. I have nothing against the Giants, who have lost three World Series since 1954 (in 1962, 1989, and 2002), but they must be defeated in order for my Rangers to win the title. The Giants have good pitching, and conventional wisdom has it that good pitching beats good hitting, but I believe the Rangers are resourceful enough to win. Will you be watching?
